Nancy Tribou

Nancy was the wife of longtime Hartford Track Club member Bill Tribou and a volunteer at many running events in the area.

Obituary

Nancy (Pappas) Jette Tribou, 82, of Granby, beloved wife of William H. Tribou, died Monday, (November 23, 2009) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. She was born October 28, 1927, daughter of the late William P. and Anne (Cleary) Pappas and had lived in Simsbury prior to moving to Granby 27 years ago. She was a graduate of St. Augustine, Class of 1941 and a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy, Class of 1945. Nancy was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Simsbury and was the school Librarian at St. Mary's School while her children attended. Besides her husband of 27 years, she is survived by children, Susan Girardin and her husband Moe of Kensington, Bill Jette and his wife Christine of Suffield, Greg Jette and his wife Roz of Simsbury, Kathy Dunne and Andy of East Granby, Peggy Alexander and her husband George of Simsbury; step-sons, Bill Tribou and his wife Kristine of Schroon Lake, NY and Tony Tribou and his wife Jeanne of Abita Springs, LA. Nancy also leaves her grandchildren, Megan, Colleen and Erin Dunne, Kevin, Jason and Lauren Alexander, Kristin and Taylor Jette, Laura Tribou and her partner Deana, Will Tribou and his wife Sara, Reed, Brett, Dalton, Hannah and Kaitlyn Tribou, Christopher Schultz and his partner Peter and Carrie Schultz, and three great grandchildren, all of whom loved their Nana. She was predeceased by her first husband, Omer R. Jette. She attended every game her children played and it carried over to her grandchildren. Her greatest love and achievement in life was her family. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, Friday, November 27th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral will be Saturday, November 28, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Simsbury. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Hartford. Memorial donations in Nancy's memory may be made to St. Mary's School Library, 946 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, CT 06070.
